This collection both celebrates and satirizes the many types of love we experience as humans. The various relationships explored by the variety of authors will be an inspiration for conversation.

Evanston Literary Festival: Bizarre Collaboration: Creating With Your Better Half

Both renowned creators in their own fields, Chicago novelist Audrey Niffenegger (The Time Traveler’s Wife) and Scottish cartoonist Eddie Campbell (From Hell) began creating comics together in 2014 and, after a long distance relationship, married this past year. Bizarre Romance, their new project, provides thirteen stories set in a variety of situations and styles written by Audrey and illustrated by Eddie. They’ll discuss the book and the intricacies of working with your partner on collaborative art.

Blink Contemporary Art & Design, 1709 Franklin, will be hosting an opening for "Master Class: Artists who have mastered their craft," on July 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The exhibit runs until Oct. 1. According to the gallery, the exhibit is a response to a society that worships youth. It celebrates those artists who have spent a lifetime refining and mastering their skills and whose work has achieved a quiet certainty.

Collected and introduced by Audrey Niffenegger (bestselling author of The Time Traveler’s Wife and Her Fearful Symmetry) and including her own fabulous original illustrations, this is a unique and haunting anthology of some of the best ghost stories of all time. Niffenegger hosts a Halloween reading from the anthology at Greenlight, with appearances by writers (including Amy Giacalone) included in the collection. Guests are invited to come in Halloween costumes, and the authors will also serve as judges for a costume contest with prizes! Halloween refreshments will be served for a hauntingly festive evening.
